Since re-opening in 2007, Little Lambs has built up a strong team of staff which currently numbers 22. To be able to work with children, coping with all the challenges it presents, staff have to be special. We are regularly complemented on our staffs gentle and friendly approach with both children and parents.

The nursery is owned by Sam and Rich Maitland-Price.

Sam is the nursery proprietor / manager and has over 10 years experience. Sam has also had the opportunity and experience of working in many childcare settings such as local schools, various day nurseries, nannying and creches. During 2002 qualified for Diploma in Childcare and Education and graduated from university with BA(hons) in Childhood studies in 2005. Sam also trained for NVQ Level 4 during 2008.

Cheryl is the Nursery Manager and has a wealth of experience working in childcare settings. Cheryl has her Diploma in Childcare and Education and is currently studying for BA Hons Childhood studies . Cheryl has worked within our Pre-School room and baby room until then progressing as the nursery manager in 2009.

Steph is the Nursery Supervisor Steph qualified in her CACHE Diploma in childcare and education back in 2007. Steph started working for Little Lambs in Feb 2008 and then went on to universitry in Sept 2008 to study for her BA (Hons) in Childhood studies. Steph stayed with us working during school holidays and came back officially in July 2011 with our after-school club. She then took over the Nursery Supervisor position in September 2011.

All staff attend regular in-house and recognised training updating their knowledge all the time. First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Planning are just a few of the courses the staff attend, with them regularly being updated as and when needed. All of our staff are fully police checked.

Good links with local colleges enables the nursery to participate sharing our good work practice with students of childcare, whose work in Little Lambs is always supervised and monitored. No student will ever be left alone with a child or group.
